Resource Guide Spellbook and Resource Guide Prayerbook

Apologies, I am not awesome at attaching photos so you can't see the picture here, but if you go to the Gen Con Missing Pieces Authors' Avenue facebook page you can see the cover pic for both of these books, it is the top post on that page and you can get there right here.

Also, this is the general forums so I think this fits in this section.

NEW BOOK RELEASE NOTES

Announcing the ACKS Resource Guide Spellbook and the ACKs Resource Guide Prayerbook!

Just in time for the sold out Gen Con 50, C.E.Rocco will be selling both for the price of one on Authors' Avenue.

As you can see by the cover the Spell book is on the main side and it contains everything you need for your arcane caster to cast spells all in one easy to read description.  No more flipping through endless books to find a ruling or a creature stat.  Everything is in the spell description.

Rotate and flip the book and you have everything you need to cast all your divine spells.

This quick and easy to use resource guide is available at Gen Con 50 for $20, but you can score a copy before Gen Con for half off, that's $10, plus shipping and handling if you order before Gen Con starts.

I don't have it set up in the store at www.dragonroots.net just yet so you can leave me a message here to call or email you or you can simply call me at 651-276-3487, ask for Rocco, and we'll work out the details.

Yeah, I don't believe in kickstarters so I'm old schooling it. :)

Curious about this, but not going to Gen Con. Is this a reorganization of ACKS rules, putting research, etc, rules together, or is it original material?

Is it available in pdf? Are there any samples of what it looks like inside available?

I’ll try and post the forward in the book so you get a better idea of what it is. Right now it’s a little hard while I’m at gencon but you can call me directly at 651-276-3487 I’ll be happy to talk about it

hey, i heard a player in my game stopped by to say hi!

I'm interested but I have the same questions as DrPete above.

He did, and he bought 2 copies and I gave him a bonus copy.  It was great talking to a fellow ACKs player.

I've been told there's one on it's way to me as we speak.  I was blown away when he mentioned other ACKs compatible stuff you have that I had somehow never heard of, but then my player mentioned your distaste for PDFs, which tends to be the main way I hear about/try out things, even if i ultimately buy a physical book.

I like the feel of a real book in my hands.  It's why I never did PDFs of my magazine that I wrote to take the place of Dragon and Dungeon.  If it makes it easier, I could be swayed into making a PDF out of it, it wouldn't be that hard since I have to have it as a PDF to send to print, but when you get your physical copy I think you'll see why it makes more sense not to.

Here is the foreword

Foreword

Adventurer Conqueror King (ACKs) entered my radar about a year ago when my friend/sometime DM Jason announced that he would be hosting the campaign to end all campaigns.  For years he had become famous for starting the campaign to end all campaigns throughout various editions and each ended at about 5th level as life interfered.

Last year though he stumbled upon ACKs and true to his word he poured into the mechanics.

I too have been through the ringer and I found that I loved the old school feel of this game.  One thing though bothered me and it was the layout of the books. In particular, the layout of the spells.

I dislike having to open other books to find material important to a spell, or call me lazy, flipping to a page in the same book.  I know, I’m lazy.

So, this is the first in a line of resource guides to make game play around the ACKs table go quicker and smoother.  Each spell entry for the ACKs Resource Guide Spell Book (arcane spells) is complete with any and all information you require to cast that spall.  In particular the monster stats for the summon spells.

Flip over the book and you will enjoy the same creature comforts for the ACKs Resource Guide Prayer Book (divine spells).

As new ACKs spells and rituals become available I will update this book and release it as a new edition.  Eventually I will add in new spells to this book.  Sorry, I didn’t have time to play test the new spells before the Gen Con 2017 release.  However, we have several new spells on the back burner, as well as new rules for magical encounters, magic items, alchemy formulas, and more that will fill future editions.

Lastly I made this a handy 6” x 9” soft cover book for ease of use and to have a lower cost.  If demand picks up and the size of the material increases too greatly for 6” x 9” pages, I’ll consider printing in hard cover or full game book size.

Thanks for your patronage and happy gaming!

Pre-Gen Con I was offering them for $10 discounted down from $20.  Now that Gen Con is over I'll do $20 for 1, $30 for 2, $36 for 3, or $40 for 4, plus shipping and handling of course.

I may do PDf once I recover from Gen Con and get back into my regular schedule, but half the book is currently upside down so I'll have a few things to correct.  You can text or call me at 651-276-3487 or email me at c.e.rocco@comcast.net to order...

I posted the foreword above, I didn't plan on doing a PDF but might if there is demand for that, and I can send you picture of the layout inside and answer any additional questions if you text me at 651-276-3487.

PDFs are often a great way to go as they make an option viable, particularly for overseas customers, because often the case is that the postage costs just puts the physical books way out of your (the purchaser) acceptable price range for the product.  So while one may prefer a physical book, a PDF or nothing often means the PDF wins out.

Yeah, I ran into that issue when I ran my magazine...I'll see what I can do but it may take some time.

All good, let us know when you do.  If it ends up on DrivethruRPG there's a good chance i'll buy it.  I didn't end up getting all of the classes the one guy published for ACKs but... I got most of them.
