Hex Maps

I like hex maps. It took me a while to realize this, but I like them. And I’ve started looking for them. I’m a little picky - I like my maps to have some sort of scale to them, so I know what I’m looking at. Here are some of the ones I’ve found:

ADMC (http://admc.pbworks.com/w/page/1397219/FrontPage) - has a hex map covering Europe, the western Middle East, and the northern edge of Africa at a 50 kilometer per hex scale.

Cartography of Thorfin (http://thorf13.blogspot.com/2013/12/map-of-day-16-meryath-first-hex-map.html) - the first hex map of Bruce Heard’s new setting, Calidar, at 10 miles per hex.

Bruce Heard’s blog (http://bruce-heard.blogspot.com/) - currently posting updates on the Calidar setting, but has hex maps and descriptions of territories from the Known World (mostly at 8 miles to the hex). Basically any post that is titled with a name, a colon, and a description is a map and region overview.

Inkwell Ideas (inkwellideas.com) - another blog from the developer of Hexographer. One of the maps (http://inkwellideas.com/2010/10/updated-giant-united-states-hex-map-wrailroads-circa-1870/) is a United States 1870 railway map at around 25 miles per hex, and there’s also a map of Africa at what appears to be 75 miles per hex.
