ACKS v16 copy editing

I figure that it would be useful to have a thread in which people can list any typos or similar copyediting mistakes in the current draft of the rules, so the designers can quickly edit them.

  1. In the EXAMPLE on page 114, the third through sixth sentences read:
“His realm is divided up into 5 vassal reams, each ruled by a prefect with a population of 120,000 families. Each prefect’s vassal realm has one city (12,500 people). Each prefect’s realm is divided between 4 palatines, each with about 30,000 families. Each prefect’s vassal realm has one town (3,125 people). Each prefect’s realm is divided between 6 legates, each with about 5,000 families.”
The last two sentences should read:
“Each palatine’s vassal realm has one town (3,125 people). Each palatine’s realm is divided between 6 legates, each with about 5,000 families.”
(It might also might read better as “Each palatinate has one town (3,125). Each palatine has 6 legates as vassals, each with about 5,000 families.” But that’s just a stylistic suggestion–the repeat of “prefect” where it should be “palatine” is a straight up typo.)
  2. In my copy of the GM tables document, on page 2 (“Reactions, Morale, Turning Undead, and Thievery”), the headings for the first two tables are screwed up–they appear superimposed.

A decision should be made concerning the Oxford comma I suppose!

In char. creation:
" This ensures that that the character always has a variety of characters to choose from to find one he likes"
I’m guessing it should be:
This ensures that that the player always has a variety of characters to choose from to find one he likes,
that link is funny

Fixed!

In profiences:
Ancestral Magic: The character has learned to tap in to ancient magic in his bloodline. His lifespan is three times longer than normal for his race, and he shows no signs of aging. He also enjoys the elf’s immunity to paralysis. The character’s ancestry always somehow manifests in his appearance (pointed eyes, golden eyes, a strange birthmark, etc.)
… (pointed ears, golden eyes, a strange birthmark, etc.)
